Smoking Cessation Pharmacy Care Record Changes
Published: 04/04/24
The Smoking Cessation Support Assessment Tool in the Pharmacy Care Record (PCR) has undergone a refresh to improve the user experience. The newly refreshed tool will launch on Monday, 8th April 2024.
We have been working with ATOS and others on discovering pain points within the current system, improving the usability and user journey.
What’s changed?
One improvement that will be noticeable is that the language used has changed. You will notice a shift towards more meaningful terms – for example, ‘Pre-quit registration’ now replaces ‘Initial Data Capture’. These changes will make the actions you need to take at each stage clearer.
Some of the elements have been restructured to bring the data recording in line with the flow of consultations – saving time and minimising the risk of missing any sections.
Some solutions have been developed to fix known flaws, for example allowing the 4 and 12 week submissions to be made for every single quit attempt that is started rather than forcing an early close if a patient fails an attempt and wants to try again soon after.
These are some of the improvements that have been implemented. You can find a full list of changes here. For an up-to-date PCR User Guide click here.
The changes will take place on the evening of Monday, 8th April 2024. If you would like to provide some feedback on the refreshed tool, feel free to email at enquiries@cps.scot.
