Community Pharmacy Scotland (CPS) attended the annual Pharmacy in Practice Conference on the 12th March 2025 in Edinburgh. The day consisted of a breadth of panel discussion sessions focusing on innovation in, and the future of pharmacy practice.

The event was rounded off with a political panel Q&A session where CPS asked MSPs "Which challenges that the Health Service faces today do you think the community pharmacy network could help more with?"

There was an agreement that the network continues to deliver first class services to the people of Scotland and the need to keep people well at home is a key priority. It was acknowledged that in order to support and expand the community pharmacists scope of practice there is a recognised need for greater access to patient records and this is work which is being looked into by the Scottish Government.
