Share your views on the future of the Post-Registration Foundation Programme: Listening event 30th January

Please find below a message and invitation from our colleagues at NES Pharmacy:

Dear Colleague,

We are looking for your views on the future of the Post-Registration Foundation programme (PRPF).

In August 2026, pharmacists who have been fully trained to the 2021 GPhC Initial Education & Training (IET) Standards, will register with the GPhC as an independent prescriber. This not only removes the need for Post-registration Foundation Pharmacists to undertake an accredited Independent Prescribing course, but will also impact on the individual learning needs of the Foundation Pharmacists, and the assurance requirements of their employers.

A review of the NES Post-registration Foundation Programme (for Pharmacists) is underway.

The Scottish Pharmacy Awards will return for 2025 with a real opportunity for the amazing work that is undertaken in Pharmacy across Scotland to be celebrated once again.
